They say it only knocks once; however, sometimes you have to force it and create opportunity all on your own.
January 2021 has already graced me with a huge opportunity. An opportunity to create some content that I’ve always wanted to create.
So I’m preparing to throw my leg of my 2018 Triumph Tiger 800 and head out on my first motorcycle trip. I’m going to a part of the United States I have never been to, Key West, Florida.
The dates are not certain yet, but I expect I’ll be leaving in the next 10-14 days. The weather should be amazing for the trip. Temperatures should be in the 50-70 the entire way.
This will be a solo trip as my wife does not enjoy being on the back of the Tiger for short periods of time, much less a long trip. The trip should take about 3-5 days depending on my stops, camping, and any sight-seeing planned. Key West will be home for a few days once I arrive, then I’ll head back. I expect to be gone about 14-15 days. This is my first adventure bike trip, and I don’t want to feel rushed to schedule. The plan calls for me to camp most of the way with generous time to set-up camp, eat, relax and make content.
Yes, I’m actually going to make content for myself this time, not for other people.
I’ll be recording vlog-style content during the trip. I’ll be posting to my @traildriven channel on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. I’ll also be recording content for an entire trip series that will air on that channel after I return. This will be my first real attempt and vlogging, so wish me luck. I have great gear; now I need to put it to use for vlogging.
Before leaving, I have planned a few videos. Those will be filmed over the next few days.

The bike needs a little prep, which my friends at Bell County Motoworks will be taking care of. My camping gear is pretty top-notch, as I once planned to go with my sons to Philmont Scout Ranch back in 2017 when we decided to move to Texas. The bottom line here is we have some great backpacking gear already and will suit me well on this little adventure
Wish me luck and please follow along.
